Lake of Leqinat (Liqeni i Leqinatit)
The Lake of Leqinat (also known as Lake Liqenat) is one of Rugova’s most beautiful alpine lakes, sitting at approximately 1,900 meters above sea level. Surrounded by tall pine forests, open meadows, and rocky mountain ridges, the lake feels like a hidden oasis far removed from any busy life in the valley below. The hike to the lake begins in Kuqishtë village and takes visitors through scenic forests, fresh streams, and panoramic viewpoints.
The lake’s calm, mirror-like surface reflects the surrounding mountains, creating a dreamy setting especially attractive in summer and autumn. The area is also home to great picnic spots, making it perfect for families, nature lovers, and photography enthusiasts.
